2012 Membership Renewals Due Now
Just a reminder that your 2012 membership renewals are due now. Please submit your dues ASAP to avoid losing any of the benefits of belonging to the chamber.
Thank you to those that have renewed so far, your receipts and your membership card stickers will be sent out in the next few weeks.

Bonnechere Valley Businesses Invited to Business Networking Session
Eganville and Area businesses and organization leaders are invited to a Bonnechere Valley Business Networking session on Monday March 5th at the Eagle’s Nest, 178 Jane Street form 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The evening is being co-hosted by the Township of Bonnechere Valley and the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Congratulations Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 – 85th Anniversary
Congratulations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 Pembroke on the 85th Anniversary as a charter member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
An anniversary celebration will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 on Saturday February 25th from 2 pm to 5 pm. Wine and cheese will be served and there will be live entertainment. The public is most welcome to attend.

Grand Opening – Ottawa Valley Driving Academy – Feb 28th

The Ottawa Valley Driving Academy is now open for business. They offer driving training to young and mature drivers so they can become safe responsible drivers.
You are invited to join us for the Grand Opening on Tuesday February 28th with the ribbon cutting at 4:30 pm and refreshments to follow.

First Annual Renfrew County Science Olympics – March 2nd
The Deep River Science Academy (DRSA) and partners are please to provide a day of science activities… Olympic style! An invitation was sent out to each high in Renfrew County to enter a four person team in a Science Olympics competition to be held on Friday March 2, 2012 form 9 am to 2:30 pm at Fellowes High School in Pembroke.
The teams will include two grade nine and two grade ten students and will compete in the following activities: Density Relay, Heavy Engineering, Needling Fruit and Periodic Spelling Bee.
Partners for this event are Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (Title Sponsor for DRSA), Hydro One, the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, Canadian Nuclear Society, Women in Nuclear, Youth Science Ontario and the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley – 10th Anniversary Options Skilled Trade, Career and Job Fair
It is the 10th Anniversary of the Options Skilled Trade, Career and Job Fair on Wednesday May 9th, 2012 at the Pembroke Memorial Centre and we would like you to join us to celebrate! This project has engaged more than 10,000 high school student in the past decade and exposed them to the Skilled Trades.
We are anticipating an even bigger and more interactive “hands-on” event than in the past. As an exhibitor you have 3 options to participate:
a)      Skilled Trades Fair – interactive/hands-on booth promoting the skilled trades
b)      Career Fair – promoting your organization and the type of employment that exist
c)       Job Fair – actively seeking employees and accepting resumes
As an exhibitor there is no cost to you for participating and we are encouraging you to think outside the box and include an interactive and experiential learning component to your booth – be creative and have fun!
The registration deadline this year is Friday March 30, 2012, however, get your registrations in early, as space is limited and we want to insure that we accommodate everyone.

Ottawa Senators – Ottawa Valley Night – March 10, 2012
Ottawa Valley Night will take place on Saturday March 10, 2012, when the Ottawa Senators take on the Buffalo Sabres.
This date is reserved to provide residents and businesses of the Ottawa Valley to enjoy some outrageously great offers, and appeal to both the Ottawa & Ottawa Valley consumer/employment market.

Celebrating Women in Business – Enterprise Renfrew County
Enterprise Renfrew County cordially invites women entrepreneurs to attend a “Celebrating Women in Business Event” taking place at Ma-Te-Way Activity Centre, 1 Ma-Te-Way Park Drive in Renfrew on March 8th, 2012 from 9:00 am – 3:15 pm, with lunch and refreshments provided. This is a FREE event, but there will be a goodwill offering collected at the door, with proceeds donated to Bernadette McCann House.
