Annual Golf Tournament – Friday September 21st Prizes Still Needed
The Golf Committee has been working very hard on the planning of our annual Golf Tournament. We are still in need of prizes for the golfers. If you can help us out by donating some prizes we would greatly appreciate your generosity. There are a few Tee Sponsorships still available.
Date: Friday September 21st, 2012
Where: Whitetail Golf Course, Eganville
Time: 1:00 pm shot gun start (Please arrive to check-in before 12:30 pm)
Cost: $95/player or $360/foursome (savings of $20) If paid before September 14th
(After September 14th the cost rises to $105/player)
Cost includes 18 holes, golf cart and casual BBQ dinner. Come spend the afternoon at the Best Public Course in Eastern Ontario & Western Quebec.

Enterprise Renfrew County & UOV Chamber of Commerce – 2012 Bridges to Better Business
Enterprise Renfrew County and the UOV Chamber of Commerce have partnered together to host the 2012 Bridges to Better Business event under the theme “Community Engagement… Get Involved -Make a Difference”. It will be held Thursday October 18th, 2012 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at The Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre in Pembroke.
This annual event is a one-day learning and networking opportunity packed with great ideas to help entrepreneurs succeed. The event provides entrepreneurs with opportunity to develop valuable networking contacts and share innovative ideas with their peers.
Pre-registration opportunity to Chamber members ONLY from August 1st to September 4th for the price of $25 + $3.25 HST = $28.25 in order to give Chamber members first opportunity for a trade show table. Price includes:
- FREE tradeshow table – 1st come 1st served. Limited tables available.
- Access to Keynote speaker and educational activities (seminar, discussion panel), business kit, door prizes.
- Lunch & breaks
- Networking
The price of $25 covers the cost of the lunch and 2 breaks (morning and afternoon). This price of $25 will remain inclusive for Chamber Members Only even after the tradeshow table component fills up.
The Early Bird Registration promotion to the general public will commence September 4th for $40 + HST with the offering of a free table for the Tradeshow (if there is still room) until September 30th. Price rises to $50 + HST after September 30thDeadline for registration is October 12th.

This event this year will replace our Small Business Week Tradeshow that we have traditionally held on the Friday of Small Business Week.

Pembroke Mall – Food Drive
Empty shelves mean empty bowls… there are true stories of HUNGER in this community.
The Salvation Army Food and St. Joseph’s Food Banks are in dire need of food, shelves are bare. Pick up your brown bag at the Pembroke Mall to do your part!    Peanut butter, pasta, canned meat/fish, canned vegetables/fruit, baby food, bread, fruit, eggs, hygiene articles, etc. are all needed
Rotary Ride For Kids – September 15th
The Rotary Club of Pembroke is sponsoring the annual Rotary Ride For Kids on Sept. 15th.
Registration: 8:00 am
Departure: 9:00 am (Rotary Park in Pembroke to Petawawa and return.
Funds will be used for Rotary Park improvements.

United Way Campaign Kick-off – September 6th
Renfrew County United Way officially kicks off its 2012 Fundraising Campaign on Thursday September 6th at the Pembroke’s Waterfront beginning at 11:00 am. Proceeds from the Community BBQ that takes place following the event, and which is sponsored by Giant Tiger – Pembroke and Brum’s Dairy, will go to their Homelessness Initiative, specifically to provide “emergency safe beds” for homeless youth 16 – 21 years of age – an undertaking partnered by Family & Children’s Services of Renfrew County, the Phoenix Centre for Children & Families, Columbus House and the United Way.

1st Annual SUN-lite Golf Tournament – Sept 8th
Sponsored by the Ottawa Sun and Copy House and hosted by the Pembroke Golf Club and Renfrew County United Way, the SUN-lite Golf Tournament will be an opportunity for caring adults in the community to show support for local youth. Teams of four, comprised of two adults sponsors, partnered with two youth, will take to the greens on Sept. 8th, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Pembroke Golf Club.
Fee - $100.00 per adult golfer.
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm – pizza lunch
2:00 pm – golfers to holes.
All proceeds support The Salvation Army Grind Youth Centre.
