Well the final hot days of our great summer are upon us as we head into the fall season and the start of many activities.   We are getting back on our regular schedule for the bi-weekly E-Chat. We invite you to send your submissions to the Chamber office. Publishing dates can be found at the end of this document along with the deadlines. 
Still Time to Book Your “Faces of Business” Video

Faces of Business video profiles is an opportunity to showcase your business or organization. The Face of Business is a 3 – 5 minute video that discusses aspects of your business you wish to feature. Your Face of Business will be advertised on myFM radio and will air for one week exclusively on the UOV Chamber of Commerce website. After that week, the video is yours to use as you wish. This provides you with an excellent promotional tool for your website, presentations, place of business and more.
The cost is $399 + taxes which, includes all production, the promotion on myFM radio and the finished video for you own use. Videos will begin airing in the fall. To book your space, contact the Chamber at 613.732.1492.

Tickets Now Available For Upper Ottawa Valley Sports Honour Roll Induction Ceremony
Join Ottawa Senators General Manager, Bryan Maurray; Three-time Special Olympian World Winter Games Medalist, Brian Dinwoodie; and Pembroke Skating Club Lifetime Executive as they are inducted into the Upper Ottawa Valley Sports Honour Roll at a special ceremony on Wednesday October 13th at the Germania Club Hall in Pembroke.  Tickets are now on sale at Moncion Grocers, all Scotiabank Branches in Renfrew County and the City of Pembroke Recreation Department.  Tickets cost $35 each, or companies can purchase a table of 10 seats for $350.
This will be a great evening and all funds raised will support the new Fellowes High Scholl varsity football team in Pembroke.  The dinner at the meal will be prepared by the Hospitality students of Fellowes.  This is the first induction ceremony for the Upper Ottawa Valley Sports Honour Roll in more than a decade.
City of Pembroke 2010 Santa Claus Parade of Lights

The annual City of Pembroke Santa Claus parade will once again be an evening event.  The glow of the lighting gives a magical effect of this wonderful procession through the City's historical downtown core.  The 2010 Santa Claus parade will be held Saturday november 27th at 5:30 pm.  The parade will start from Moncion Grocers Pembroke Market's back parking lot and finish at L'Equinoxe Public School.  this year's theme is: "The Magic of Christmas".  Businesses and community organizations are encouraged to enter a float. There is no charge to enter a float into the parade. Numerous sponsorship opportunities to help cover costs are also available. You can contact the recreation department at 613-735-6821 ext 1501 for more information.
The event is attended by approximately 7,000 members of the public and broadcast in full on TVCOGECO as well as being featured in all local media.

Volunteer Positions Available
As the kids go back to school and with Fall just around the corner the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce will be once again gearing up our programming and events. We are always looking for more Chamber members to get involved and bring us new ideas. If you are interested in volunteering with the UOV Chamber of Commerce, please let us know. Our meetings take place monthly for 30 minutes to one hour. They are an excellent way to network and be involved in some great events. Current volunteer opportunities exist on the following committees: Social Events,  Awards Gala, Education, Communications and Membership.  
We are also interested in hearing from any member that would be interested in sitting on our Board of Directors. For more information, contact the Chamber.
