Well the weather has changed and we are all settling into the regular schedules that Fall brings upon us. Kids are back in school, summer vacations are over and we start shifting our thoughts to the colder seasons. If you have a submission for the Chamber E-Chat please send it to the Chamber office. Publishing deadlines can be found at the end of this newsletter.

“Faces of Business” Video Opportunity
“Faces of Business” video profiles are an opportunity to showcase your business or organization. It is a 3 – 5 minute video that discusses aspects of your business you wish to feature. Your video will be advertised on myFM Radio and will air for one week exclusively on the UOV Chamber of Commerce website. After that week, the video is yours to use as you see fit. This provides you with an excellent promotional tool for your website, presentations, place of business and more.
The cost is $399 + taxes which, includes all production, the promotion on myFM Radio and the finished video for your own use. Videos start airing in the fall. To book your space, contact the Chamber office at 613-732-1492.
UOV Chamber of Commerce Mini-Trade Show – October 22/10
In conjunction with Small Business Week the UOV Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Mini-Trade Show event at the Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre on Friday October 22nd. It will run 10 am – 3 pm.  Chamber members can participate FREE of Charge. Limited Space is available so book your table now by contacting the Chamber office.
Upper Ottawa Valley Sports Honour Roll Induction Ceremony – October 13th
Everyone is invited to attend the Upper Ottawa Valley Sports Honour Roll Induction Ceremony as three new inductees are honoured: Bryan Murray, General Manager of the Ottawa Senators & former coach of the Pembroke Lumber Kings in 1977 and 1978; Brian Dinwoodie, three-time Special Olympian at the World Winter Games in Idaho in 2009; and Ann Cochrane, Life-time Member of the Pembroke Skating Club & former part-owner of the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
Former NHL player, Jim Kyte will be the guest speaker for the evening.  Jim understands the meaning of perseverance in sports. He became the first legally deaf player to play in the National Hockey League and spent 13 years in the NHL.

Cocktails: 5:30 pm            Dinner: 6:30 pm
Meal Prepared by: Hospitality students and staff at Fellowes High School in Pembroke
Cost: $35/person Tickets available at: All Moncion Grocers locations, all Scotiabank branches in Renfrew County and the City of Pembroke Recreation Department.
All proceeds raised will support the return of football at Fellowes High School in Pembroke.
