   | UOVCC in Madawaska ValleyUpper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce to Offer Information Session in Madawaska Valley June 27 PEMBROKE, ONTARIO – The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce will be visiting Madawaska Valley region to provide an information Open House of organizing a Chamber of Commerce in the area. The Open House is open to any business, organization or interested party within the Madawaska Valley and Killaloe region who would like to become aware of the benefits of the Chamber of Commerce. The information session will be held at the Township of Madawaska Valley Council Chambers on Monday, June 27 at 6:30pm.
“The Chamber is an independent organization with many benefits,” says Jennifer Layman, Vice President of the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Membership Committee. “It is an asset to businesses and employees of businesses to belong to this well-connected organization.”
Ms. Layman will give the presentation on membership, accompanied the the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce President, Gary Melynk and Executive Director, Lorraine Mackenzie. The Chamber anticipates that current members in that region will also attend.
“Expo 150 was a great way to show the positive results that can happen when businesses come together,” says Layman. “We want to further encourage that support by inviting this region to build their business presence by using the Chamber of Commerce.”
The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce is the largest business organization in Renfrew County, and is completely independent of any municipal funding. Membership has grown from 275 to over 320 in the past five years, and is a representation of large and small business alike.
